Praise Reports from Our Last Day of Ministry

At our Team processing last night, the question was asked, "How did you see God today?"  Here are the answers:

Kent = Through the lesson on Spiritual warfare while we were in St. Pat's Cathedral in Jackson Square.
Dima = By mistake I picked up a voodoo doll at the market.  I was creeped and could feel the evil.
Heather = I saw God in Libba's happiness for our help with the misbehaving kids.  Also having so much  fun with  Joe Will (a very troubled kid).  (This is no small matter!)
Morgan = Talking with Libba and Hy with questions I had about passages in the Bible.  They have so much knowledge!  And hanging out with Landon was precious.
Dima = Giving away my Love As Jesus bracelet.  OK, the kid took it off me.
Anna = When Libba took the time to explain what is going on in the Book of Revelations to me.
Jen = When kids were following the van as we were leaving Eagle Street.  It was obvious to me how much the team connected with these kids and impacted them!  Also, when I watched Angela talking with Alaina at dinner tonight - just like good friends just talking.
Josh = Wes' stories put God in perspective.  I gave me bracelet to a very special local minister, Rev. Charles Garrison, who was in the French Market.
Best Picture of the Day:  Dinner with Six Very
Special Guests from LAMB Ministries and Project Lazarus
Traechelle = When we went to Lazarus House and played drums.  A lady had many stories about how she freely gave what she had to whoever needs it.  She reminded me of this mission team and how they are doing the same thing - Not just talking the Bible, but doing it, living it!
Jim = I was so moved by the impact of our team with the kids at Eagle Street. (Jim's eyes tear up here) And by fantastic dinner guests:  from Lazarus house and Hy & Libba.
Alaina = Libba is always Gospel first.  Hy & Libba's example is such an inspiration to us.  We have to take this example home with us.  Also I heard God through Angie's story tonight.
Preston = I connected a lot this year.  I got more involved.
Heather = I didn't want to leave Eagle Street today.
Morgan = I learned what kids are really going through.

Praise Reports from the Last Two Days

Praise God that...

Nick Battaglia=Able to hang out with Traechelle’s mom, Jackie.
Kent Beckman =When I woke up this morning, I was desperately afraid of children.  Morgan prayed for me and it worked! Although we intercessors forgot to bring the prayer requests along with us, we got them from the mission blog so we could pray for everyone.
Preston Beckman=Was able to bring new life to an old, rusted push lawn mower.
Alaina Bowman=Talked with Staff at Laz about missions.  Some are non-Christians.  When the Eagle Street kids were not obeying, we were able to stop and pray about it.  It really made a difference. Wowed that our students are taking charge and that they are a very trustworthy team
Matt Chase =Took the four boys who’ve been the most trouble away from the site for snowballs and fun.  Made a positive influence on these boys.
Savannah Girmscheid = I was Wes’ intern this first day.  We got to see everything today!
Anna Locklear= Our first day experience at Laz. House was an great experience in Love.  Great!  The health & wellness class at Laz house was awesome.  Kids followed her around at the Eagle Street evening outreach.
Jen Locklear= Our first day experience at Laz. House was an great experience in Love.  Great!  It was hard to do Free Prayer without the signs, so we gave away Gatorade on the Riverwalk.  It worked!  It was a challenging day, but disappointment did not overtake me.  I was able to pray about everything
Heather Morrison= Surprised at how well Jim was with the kids.  Loved working on Tuesday night with two special girls, Unique and Destiny.
Dima Skinner = I felt the Spirit’s prompting right away on the first day to go deep with a guy at Lazarus house.  I said outloud, “We’re doing this!”  Wow!  It’s amazing that Pepe and I talked with Victor for over two hours about the things of God.  I got permission to bring Victor from Laz House to Dinner on Thursday.
Jim Skinner = Praying for the neighborhood gave a sense of the Spirit’s guidance.  It’s been the hope of Hy for years to have a basketball court.  Today it happened.  We bought the last portable hoop set that the store had.  Mission team kids put it together almost completely by themselves!  His son, Jon, is praying for us – what a joy that brings to a father’s heart!
Josh Speer= On Monday, was so surprised at how welcoming the people were and how willing they were to tell their stories.  Was blown away by a comment someone made on the mission blog.  It is exactly what issue he’d been dealing with lately!
Natalie Steiner= The kids @ Eagle Street really know their Bible.  A 6 year old knows all the books of the Bible by heart.  Every Bible study kid was excited to read the Bible.
Logan Walker= Right when the basketball set was completed (Took 5 hours), the kids were so excited.
Morgan Walker= We played football in the street in order to lure kids to come over for prayer and ministry.  We sent text prayer requests out and it worked.  20 Kids came!  On Tuesday night, It was great praying for the group, playing with Miss Doris’ kids and seeing that the older, rougher boys at the outreach were protecting Melony, a girl with special needs.
Wes Slawson= Very motivated team with awesome work ethic.  Very sensitive to the ministry of the moment and careful to not offend the locals.  A very unified, trust filled team!
Traechelle Carr= You guys are an awesome team!  You see a need and just do it!  Talked to lots of Lazarus staff about what mission work is all about.  The Eagle Street Tuesday night went so much better than in many weeks before.

Urgent Prayer Request

We are about to start the Eagle St. Children's Ministry Outreach. This group has had very disrupting boys in the past two weeks and there has been violence. Please pray now for supernatural peace and Gods power to be with us NOW!

Followup:  It was a fantastic night with lots of excitement for the Outreach.  We had no major behavior issues during the event and the volunteers said that people really got lots out of it.  Thanks so much for the prayer support!
Best Picture of the Day:  Sitting on the Levee Wall in the Lower 9th Ward.

We are here! Safe and sound .

We made it!  Can we eat now?

Well, it's been over six years, but the news just announced that the very last of the emergency trailers has been removed from the New Orleans area.
At one point, New Orleans had more than 23,000 FEMA-issued trailers and mobile homes in the city.
Another milestone in rebuilding the city!
